The Old Testament is a type and shadow for us to go by today. We could learn some lessons if we would just read the Bible.
Jeremiah was chosen by God as a prophet to warn Israel of their sin. He interceded for them, and prayed they would turn from their lustful desires. It was a message that wasn’t popular. It didn’t tickle your ear. He confronted people with sins. Also, he confronted false prophets.
The Lord spoke to Jeremiah and told him how stubborn the people were. He told him to warn them, and Jeremiah did time and time again. Those in Israel did not want to hear what he had to say.
James 5:16 says, “The earnest prayer of a righteous availeth much.”
God was going to bring judgment for their sins. Do you think Jeremiah got tired of praying? I believe he did.
Let’s bring it on home to us. We start out praying with our coattails on fire. We may see a few changes here and there, but not exactly what we were hoping for.
Now, we have a choice. Do we stop praying for our nation, friends, and loved ones? No, we stand as watchman on the wall listening to the next command from our Lord.
God can only move when Christians seek His face and ask Him to.
Sound the alarm and watch God bring restoration to the Body of Christ once again.
